Bloggers in Blog Radio (MP3) Posted on January 30th

Blog Radio de Lunes a Jueves a las 7PM, en la 88.1FMThis will be short and sweet because I’m still feeling the after effects of eating ridiculously spicy chicken wings and I’ll wrap this up here to put my ass in a bucket of ice-cold water: Last night an entourage of bloggers composed of Jorge Yau, Gonzalo Horna, Butter, Flip and myself were invited to Artefacto’s space on the radio courtesy of Radio 10. We talked about a number of things, and even though my feed fucked up the server yet again I was asked about Porto Diao so I elaborated in it a little (by the way, sorry Lucho. You’ll know why once you listen to the thing), Yau was asked about Blogs Panama, and finally Butter and Gonxo about their adventures in the music realm. We weren’t the only ones invited as the lead singer from Rencilla was there to teach us a little bit about Hare Krishna culture which I thought was very interesting… dude’s cool beans, as well. Blog Radio, as you can see on the flyer to your left, is the “Blogger Power Hour” where lovely ladies take on the airwaves Monday thru Thursday at 7PM at frequency 88.1 FM. The lineup is great, as a matter of fact… very culture-oriented.

  • ARTEFACTO: I hadn’t met Ruth from Artefacto before so it was awesome to meet her. This was her show last night, so umm yeah! She talks about Music and art from abroad so you open your mind a little.
  • LA HOJA: Lili is the absolute best. We’ve gone out for drinks before and she’s one of the coolest people I met last year; It’s always fun to be around her, and I like her specially because she deals with literature both from Panama and abroad.
  • HOJA DE BIJAO: I met Carla at Almanaque Azul’s chancleta deal and she was very nice; her initiative is awesome as well, as her blog deals with local art and culture. If you want to know what’s worth a damn in Panama City as in stuff to do and see, you’ll visit.
  • LA GUAYABERA DIGITAL: I haven’t met Margot yet but I’m looking forward to it. Marco would get a kick out of this blog, as her blog is about movies and why we love them… someone hook me up, dammit!

Now that I’ve successfully made the shout-outs I was set out to do, I’ll point you to the goodies: Yau beat me to it, but I’m posting them anyway because the more the merrier, I suppose? Anyway, there are two versions of the radio episode: Regular and Light. It’s all in Spanish and laughing, so choose your favorite and enjoy. Behold my shitty radio skills and our backstage shenanigans as we rock the kasbah in Blog Radio! I think I’ve talked about my earlier radio adventures and how they’ve scarred me for life, but I must say I had a great time as I felt I was with friends all around… I’d like to take this opportunity and thank Ruth and everyone at Radio 10 for making the show such a fun time, and Budweiser for the slight hangover.

After that, we went to Hooters for some spicy chicken wings. My ass feels raped.

Carnival-hungry canuck Matt sent me this MP3 this morning and I had to send it to my friends; now, esteemed reader, I'm giving this out to you. There's no real introduction necessary for this since it would ruin the punchline (in my opinion, anyway) so just go ahead and download...

Boss D.J:
There I am... sitting. Waiting. For something, anything. People are out and about while I'm there, appearing like I'm sitting still while I wait for something exciting to happen. Sunday mornings are always easier to be idle, anyway. There was a lot of stuff going on around me but still,...
