My Push Buttons Article Featured in PanamaFAQ.com
My stuff is making the rounds across the blogosphere! I was talking to Jenny this morning and she pointed out to me that the relatively new (at least it seems that way) blog PanamaFAQ.com had featured my article on Push Buttons and Love Motels today. Hell, with this and making Blog of the Day with my Panama Canal Referendum rant on Saturday, I’m walking on air! Once again I’d like to thank all of you visitors for coming to the site and having a laugh at my views of the world… I’ll try my best to keep being entertaining as long as y’all keep coming back to read (and distribute *tee hee*) my stuff! This is very humbling… it tells me that what I’m doing is right, and nothing feels better than that squishy care bear feeling. Aahhh, it’s like Downy, but in digital form.
Anyway, I just wanted to point that out and that, when you have the time, to swing by PanamaFAQ.com… the initiative is tits, and already I’m seeing posts on topics that I wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole. What a brave blog (I’m not particularly a Gin-drinking type of man, y’see. Call me a pansy, I don’t care).

In my effort to help out the guys over at Project Daigoro, I found this article I wrote for a Panamenian magazine called "Weeknd" (no "e") a couple of years ago. It's funny, I remember sending it and not hearing from them ever again. Maybe they published it, but I...

- “Push Buttons” and Love Motels:
Wow, that sounds dirty... the "love motel." These establishments have been in Panama for as far back as the 60's, primarily for american soldiers who wanted a place to take their catch of the night without having to go to their barracks. Nowadays they're some of the most lucrative businesses...
Hey Rob,
Thanks for the kind words. PanamaFaq has actually been around for a few years now. I try to write about the stuff that the normal boquete plot selling robber barons are too scared to write about. You might also enjoy (or perhaps hate) my political blog at http://econotrix.com where I also write a lot about Panama. I just wrote a large piece on the economics of Nightclubs in Panama and Argentina.
Great of you to clarify that; since I didn’t see any archive links I just assumed the blog’s still building entries. I’ll check you pollitical blog now, since I love topics that “stir the shit.”
Hola Rob! FYI, I think you missed one more place where the same article was featured. Take a look here: http://www.globalvoicesonline.org/2006/09/03/pana-blogs-report-3/#more-14748

Ohhh, snap! I dunno whether or not I should be flattered or embarassed that my push button article is making the rounds like this… either way, this is awesome!
Thank you, Melissa! And I have to mention that your blog gets me upset because it makes me want to eat ridiculous amounts of food every time I waltz in there… every just looks soooo good in your blog. I don’t even know why I haven’t linked to it yet… I will rectify that r-i-g-h-t n-o-w.
