Rob Rivera’s Website for 2009
Hello, boys and girls. So, it would seem that both me and the cats at Porto Diao took an improvised sabbatical of sorts during the month of January. We went out, lived, loved, got into great adventures, got drunk, got high, got depressed, got delirious, people came and went, some for good, others, for a little while, others got together forever in the sanctity of marriage, people grew apart, people came together, others still are, and all in the meantime I’ve been thinking about ways to mix things up both here and over at the Porto Diao portal so that they can not only serve you, dear reader as a source of information and (hopefully) entertainment, but also be more robust and encompassing in its potential.
I hope you like the new layout; it’s more streamlined and it’ll be a work in progress as I get the whole back-end side of things to gel like I want it to. This year you’ll see some new additions and tools for the site that you’ll hopefully get a kick out of, and they’ll be rolling out one by one as I finish up attaching them to this internet Megazord: plans for a free business and website directory for Panamanian companies/sites should be helpful, considering they’ll have to go through my no-bullshit filter. A Webfinds section will be up as well, full of links to videos, articles and other time wasters that I either find online or are sent to me via my (crazy) friends. I’ll also be retooling the links section, taking out dead links and putting out new ones so if you want so share some link love, drop me a line. Finally, and I really hope I get off my ass with this, there are plans to start a vlog. I hope you grow accustomed to seeing my charming mug lay it on thick on broader subjects, because that’s another thing I would like to change this year: broaden the scope of the site.
Sure, the Panama Tourist Guide tag will still keep getting fatter as stuff keeps happening in this here country I love with all my heart (never a dull moment here, no matter what) but I feel I’ve covered most things that rarely will change in Panama, so now I want to, as I mentioned not but 30 words ago, broaden the topics addressed here. I feel like it’s about time I stop limiting myself to the good ol’ 507.
There are big plans for Porto as well, but those will be discussed when the new portal launches. In the meantime I just wanted to address the hall about the changes, say hello and that I missed you, apologize for going on vacation without saying anything and thanking you for the support by coming to the site in spite of my absence. You can search me up on Facebook (MySpace is for the weak!) or just shoot me an email, if anything. Here’s to 2009, even if I am a month late into the good wishes.
