Believe me when I tell you I can write an encyclopedia on the subject of “chasing pussy” not because I’ve done a lot of it, but because I like to study people. It’s somewhat of a way to entertain my mind with instead of just turning it off when need be. Since I live in a Latin American country [...]

There’s not much to tell right now because I just recently became aware of this by way of my friend Antonio, but I had to post this and help spread the word: there is a man named Michael Morales and he recently took a 2-month leave of absence from his job to go out and climb Mount Everest. That is impressive in and of itself, but for our great delight he’s updating friends, family and anyone who stumbles upon his story via a blog called Panama – Everest 2009.

Hello, boys and girls. So, it would seem that both me and the cats at Porto Diao took an improvised sabbatical of sorts during the month of January. We went out, lived, loved, got into great adventures, got drunk, got high, got depressed, got delirious, people came and went, some for good, others, for a little while, others got together forever in the sanctity of marriage, people grew apart, people came together, others still are.

At least that’s what the folks at Panama Travel News are saying. It was Friday morning, sort of excited about going to the Guildstock ‘08 for reasons I will not discuss here (ask me though. I love ranting) but even more excited because I scored a copy of Señor Loop’s new album in 4 years [...]

I read an interview on Marcos Beraha a couple of months ago, and in it this engineer mentioned that he’s always had the need to express himself through song and, with the advent prowess of the Internet, it allowed him to purchase nifty sound recording programs so he could record tracks right from home. Out [...]

I have returned! After a short absence (alright, so I took a little more than a month… big whoop) I’m slowly taking back the reign of things. One of the reasons why I’ve been quiet this long is, in part, due to this year’s Zombie Walk, which was organized by the Porto Diao group. The [...]

As an aside to this piece, I feel compelled to share this tidbit with you: I got to work this morning and after settling in and the like, I decided to peruse Facebook. The social netwroking website has been vital to Porto Diao’s current marketing ventures, especifically talking about the Zombie Walk and I’m the [...]

Neither I nor the world was ready for what was unleashed upon the earth on December 23rd, 1994. An avid fan of games as you can probably tell, a young lad named Robert was psyched when one of his favorite games at the time was getting a movie adaptation. As it was, I was an [...]

If this comes off as ranty then it is because I feel particularly touchy when it comes to the capacity for injustice in man. I’ve been preparing an article on Noriega and the 1989 invasion to Panama, labeled “Just Cause,” and that, tangled along with things happening at work and my personal life that I [...]

I found PostSecret in 2005, mostly by accident. I wasn’t the person I am now but I was on my way, as in I didn’t yet know why people and their struggles fascinated me so much. In some cases, I didn’t know how attracted I was to the subject of human behavior and, in that [...]

It was Sunday night, and we were lounging about after a boxload of pizza and oversized drinks. We were waiting for 10:30 to come since that would be the moment we could walk into the dark movie theater and check out the latest exploits of detective John McClane in “Live Free or Die Hard.” The [...]

So, the site has been having some linking problems for the past few days. I could go ahead and write a whole story on how it happened exactly but it all narrows down to me playing too much in the site’s sandbox for too long. As a result, you might have been having a several [...]

Porto Diao continues to expand. Who would’ve thunk that a year ago the Little Portal That Could was nothing more than me playing around with a server, figuring out what to do with it? Now we have a gazillion things going on, and I’d like to take the time to showcase them because, modesty aside, [...]

The new Queens of the Stone Age album, entitled “Era Vulgaris,” is like a targeted cruise missile: it comes in hard and fast, unavoidable and precise in its desire to destroy it all. Unapologetic. The album is a lot of this, and a “greatest hits” of rhythms found in their previous albums from the band, [...]

A couple of weeks ago I went to this popular bar called Koppas. The time where I would go to trendy clubs and bars on a semi-daily basis is long and gone, but I had a good reason to step out of my comfort zone and expose myself to the sort of scenario trendy place [...]
