Hi! Since my life has, for better or worse, created a symbiosis with the Internet, I get to find a lot of interesting stuff in the unlikeliest of places. Of course, you might be wondering why I’m so special when millions of people find all sorts of interesting stuff all the time anyway; I suppose the reason why I would post this list and subsequent lists like this one is because it’s all a matter of taste. Maybe we share the same tastes, and maybe you trust that I have a good eye (thank you!). In any case, here goes the list.

Porto Diao marches on with his ongoing cult/exploitation film festival at the Theatre guild of Ancon. This time, it’s a celebration of chop-socky, closed-fist destruction as two of the most incredible martial artists in the history of cinema square off in a battle where only the best man (and those most drunk) wins: Bruce Lee [...]

Neither I nor the world was ready for what was unleashed upon the earth on December 23rd, 1994. An avid fan of games as you can probably tell, a young lad named Robert was psyched when one of his favorite games at the time was getting a movie adaptation. As it was, I was an [...]

Extreme Planet helped me appreciate movies and grow up as a cinema fan, but like everything you grow out of there comes a moment where you are forced to move on, because as much as you’ve matured and demand a better movie-going experience, this place has stayed true to its beginnings established when I first [...]

Since writing is cathartic, I’m going to sound off on the Fantastic Four movie sequel. I saw “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” the other night and now the mere thought of it makes me angry like you have no idea. I know I shouldn’t feel that way considering that the first Fantastic Four [...]

What’s the deal with sequels? It’s something concerning creative bankruptcy when, looking at the American 2007 summer movie season, all of the big blockbusters are continuations of stories on celluloid. The big movies are the following: The Hills Have Eyes 2, Spider-Man 3, Pirates of the Caribbean (3): At World’s End, Shrek The Third, Hostel [...]

Though a little late, I want to vent out in regards to the final chapter of the Spider-Man 3 trilogy. I sense this rant will most probably expand to cover many things, so stick around because I know what’s coming and I believe it will be a good read. Also, this editorial might contain spoilers, [...]

My plan for world dominance climbed a big leap up this week when I stepped out of the Batcave for some sun on this Holy Friday (expect a Panama Tourist Guide entry on the subject to rock your socks off tomorrow) and lo and behold, my review of “300” is published in SuperCine.net! You can [...]

Over the weekend my web surfing got me to land over to Leon’s blog where he had a somewhat interesting entry going on (and before you crucify me, I’m still on Day 3 of the Carnival adventure, but hey I’m human too) over there. I’m not going to repost everything written there because you can [...]

I’m saving my more thorough impressions of “300,” which premiered last night in this chunk of land my fellow citizens and I like to refer to as Panama, for my much-anticipated (by me) debut in SuperCine.net, but I can tell you one thing which I’ve said once, twice, thrice and will end up saying many [...]

Day 2 of my Carnival Diary still pending, I just wanted to come in here and rant a little; it’s a practice I’ve somehow put aside as of late and I’m slowly trying to get back into the groove. Without further adieu then, I want to talk to you about 3 things that marked this [...]

Hey, it’s Marco’s birthday so make sure to drop by his chunk of the internet and say hello; to honor the kid in the day of his birth I’ve decided to post another one of our crazy talks because I’ve been getting emails and I find them hilarious. This was earlier today, so they’re funky-fresh [...]

Panama, even if it is the melting pot the gossip tells you it is, is a country very attached to its Christian/Catholic roots. Christmas, unlike most other holidays we celebrate, is not only an excuse to get drunk and do something stupid but it has an inherent sense of goodwill that’s pretty darn infectious; it [...]

The year was 480 BC and Greece was under the impending invasion of the unstoppable forces from Persia. After much discussion in Corinth, it was assessed that the alliance of Greek states could gather up anywhere between 7,000 to 10,000 men and they would all be under the leadership of Spartan king Leonidas I, thinking [...]

I find it amazing how shitty we can treat each other as fellow Panamanians but when a tourist comes around some natives might as well kiss their feet as they stroll down the street dressed up as if they were going on an Amazonian expedition. This makes them easier to spot, and many a time [...]
